1. Develop HR Strategy
§ Develops the HR strategy and structure in line with the University objectives.
§ Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities
2. Recruitment
§ Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting new employees.
§ Attract professional and experienced talent to the organisation.
§ Ensure recruitment process is followed.
§ Draft together with line management competency based questions for interviews.
§ Ensures best practices are applied at all times.
§ Test competency through skills test or psychometric assessments.
3. Policies & Procedures
· Draft and develop all HR Policies and Procedures.
· Ensure buy-in from all management.
· Educate employees on new policy or policy changes
· Ensure adherence to the policy.
4. Job Evaluation
· Evaluate all jobs and draft new job descriptions for all staff.
· Align competencies to Performance management system.
· Discuss and sign all job descriptions.
5. Compensation and Benefits
· Develop new Grading System
· Grade all positions based on the new Grading system
· Align to the salary structure
· Manage salary changes and benefits
· Perform benchmark on compensation and benefits
6. Payroll
· Responsible for monthly payroll input
· Provide payroll to Finance for payment
7. Performance management
· Developing a performance management framework and coaching managers on performance management issues
· Implement and educate all employees
8. Leave management
· Manage time and attendance and leave.
· Ensure HR System is maintained and up to date.
9. Budgeting and Reporting
· Manage the HR budget and monthly reporting.
10. Training and Development
· Providing guidance on development for managers and their teams
· Implementing the training and development agenda; identify areas that need attention and improvement
