IT Support Specialist
Location: Baghdad, Iraq
Reporting to: Project Manager + Head of IT

About the role
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting end user systems and processes across the
project team. Primary responsibilities include day-to-day end user problem resolution after systems
and processes are implemented, meeting with end-users to understand functional requirements,
writing functional requirement documents to be used by development personnel, testing system
functionality, and provide training. The primary focus of the position is supporting our team in Baghdad,
however, may support on other various business systems as required.
What you’ll be doing
• The setup, installation and maintenance of hardware and software for the project team
• Diagnosing and solving local network issues, wireless issues, network printing problems
and other issues that may arise
• Replace or upgrade Mac and/or PC components, applications, and peripherals
• Administer and maintain websites as needed
• Maintain up to date enterprise anti-virus applications and encryption software
• Maintain hardware & software inventory on behalf of the project team
• Maintain data backups
• Provide IT support to staff requests, including resolution of hardware/software issues, data
backups, and management of social media platforms/accounts.
• Provide training on digital security to the local staff
• Understand technical requirements for creative and production. staff, and provide advice
to the IT Manager on equipment purchases
• Maintain current knowledge levels on existing products and acquire knowledge on emerging
technologies and products required to fulfill the project deliverables (specifically related
to MacOS, production equipment, media monitoring and social listening, etc.)
What we’ll need from you
Minimum two (2) years related, relevant experience in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting
of the following:
• You’ll be passionate about your work and helping your colleagues accomplish theirs
• You’ll have the enthusiasm and skills needed to drive forward high-quality work at pace
• Excellent knowledge of the Iraqi working environment
• Exceptional problem solving and support skills
• Ability to foster co-operative, positive working relationships internally and externally
• LAN networks with multiple web, mail, file, DNS, DHCP, and database servers in a mixed
platform of Windows, Macs, and Linux.

• Expert knowledge of the following operating systems: MacOS, Linux (Debian), Windows
Servers and Windows
• Must have a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, client/server, and web technologies.
• System administration in server and application software that includes: Apache, NGINX,
MySQL, WordPress, Microsoft Office, Google Apps (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Analytics)
• Understanding of digital security policies/measures in conflict zones
• Setup, configuration, and maintenance of network, and security monitoring software, as
well as a variety of related network hardware including routers, switches, Access Points,
VLAN, and related devices
• Good Experience in Git version-control system (GitLab)
