Chief Accountant
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting /Finance/ Audit
Working Experience: 7 - 10 years
Experience working in Telecommunication Sector or Construction field is preferred.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic.
Nationality: Iraqi – Living in Baghdad
_ Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements and IFRS standards where required.
_ Supervise the accounting and admin team and manage all accounting workflow through the department, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract invoicing and representative payee program.
_ Leverage strengths of the current accounting team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training in order to achieve individual and organizational goals.
_ Participate in the development of policies, procedures & internal controls for accounting operations. Implementing and managing successfully new accounting system and procedures.
_ Responsible for driving the implementation of a new ERP system, when required
_ Handle pay VAT, PAYE and Tax duties, including corporate tax.
_ Monitor fixed asset activity in detail, generating depreciation and amortization entries.
_ Perform stock control operations inclusive of random physical checks/counts on high value stock items, follow up with vendors on the status of stock and liaise with other departments’ personnel to ensure correctness and accuracy of stock operations.
_ Establish and manage all procurement and logistics activities including possible management of vehicles and drivers
_ Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure and position control documents, department budgets, mass salary updates, ledger, account maintenance and data entry.
_ Assure that all month-end adjusting entries inclusive of accruals, provisions, prepayments and depreciation are adequately accounted for in accounting records and financial statements.

A well known local construction company in Erbil is looking for a Procurement Assistant.
Job Type: Full-time. 6 Days p/w. Friday is off.
Salary: will be offered based on candidate’s qualifications.

The Procurement Assistant will be covering the process of identifying, selecting, and acquiring suitable goods, services or works from vendors through direct purchases, bidding or tendering process while ensuring timely delivery in the right quality and quantity.
Main Responsibilities: -
• Overseeing and supervising all activities of the procurement department and purchasing process.
• Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
• Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
• Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
• Performing data entry of related documents into database in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
• Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
• Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
• Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
• Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
• Performing all other supporting tasks required by the senior management.
Requirements: -
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred), Accounting or a similar field.
• 3+ years of experience in Procurement or in a similar position.
• Previous experience in building and construction materials procurement and good knowledge of accounting systems.
• Fluent in Kurdish, good command in English and Arabic.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Supervisory and management experience.
